Talk and Open Space

A comprehensive transformation of our relationship to aging is needed, to expose the current mania of our cultural preoccupation with eternal youth and to address the bias and one-sided image of aging as one of decline and decay.

“E-Wake and the art of aging”

  • What does it mean to be or to become a wise elder today?
  • How are Elders-Circles formed?
  • How can we understand the inner dimension of aging more deeply?
  • How can we better understand and discover the archetype of a timeless, intercultural, social institution such as the Councils of Elders?
  • Which processes, tools and inner keys might be helpful?
  • Does the possibility exist for a global networking of Elders-networks?

Excerpts from the introductory text:
A comprehensive transformation of our relationship to aging is needed, to expose the current mania of our cultural preoccupation with eternal youthfulness and to address the bias and one-sided image of aging as one of decline and decay.
We as older people continue to be the designers of our lives! This revolution needs us.
With awareness we can face the transitory nature of life, and the uncertainty of our future and reach out to both – creatively and courageously making ourselves available to life NOW.

Courage and humility, mindfulness and love are the signposts to live life with awareness and dignity into our later years, to reap the fruits and allow the full potential of this life cycle to blossom.

In addition to an overview of new insights, perspectives and guidelines on “being an elder”, the talk will address the spiritual dimension of aging in greater depth and how we, as seniors, can more fully understand the treasures of our essential wisdom – and access these within ourselves.
From there arises the rich possibility for us to become the medicine that the world needs, enabling us together to partake of a (r)evolution of aging.

After this, we will have the opportunity for an Open Space setting allowing us to more deeply immerse ourselves in this topic. Anyone who wishes to go deeper is welcome to join.
